Lions Recycle for Sight Program

Refractive errors can be easily corrected with eyeglasses, yet millions living in low and middle-income countries lack access to basic eye care services. The Lions Club International has recognized the urgent need for corrective lenses, typically
unaffordable or unavailable in many parts of the world.

The process is simple: Used eyeglasses and prescription sunglasses are collected at designated locations throughout participating communities. A representative of the local Lions Club will periodically collect these eyeglasses and ship them to an official Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center (LERC). There, the glasses are sorted to determine those that are usable, then processed (measured, repaired, and cleaned), and placed in inventory for distribution to optical missions around the world.

The Lions Club of Cambria will be collecting eyeglasses and prescription sunglasses from the establishments listed below on the last Friday of the month. If you have eyeglasses you no longer need, please make a point of taking them with you the next time you visit one of these ten locations or just drop them off there while running errands.

Thank you for your support in this worthy endeavor.
